Larissa D. Brown serves as the Data Analyst at East CLC for Akron Public Schools with the purpose of increasing student academic growth. In her role, she works collaboratively with teachers and administrators to plan, implement and assess school change initiatives to ensure alignment with and focus on intended outcomes. Larissa has 22 years of experience with the Akron Public Schools where she has served in various capacities. She has taught middle and high school mathematics, served as the district’s Grant Coordinator as well as worked as the Elementary Program Coordinator.
Larissa had been able to apply her educational leadership skills in many areas such as collaborating to develop and secure resources for the Closing the Achievement Gap (CTAG) program, working with the Testing, Evaluation, and Research Office to coordinate the administration and dissemination of the PSAT assessment to 8th and 9th graders to prepare them college readiness and by serving on the District Leadership team in offering support for school improvement.
Larissa graduated from Mississippi Valley State University, Itta Bena, MS with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and from the University of Akron with a Masters degree in Secondary Education. She also holds a state license in Principalship and her Superintendent Certification.
In her spare time, Larissa enjoys reading, hiking, and travel. She is a single mother of one child, Zora.
