Summer L. Hall was born in West Akron and graduated from John R. Buchtel High School. She was taught the importance of community by her grandmother, the late Marian T. Hall and great-aunt Helen Arnold. She is, and always has been, passionate to serve her hometown community. She began her college career at the University of Cincinnati and plans to continue her education to pursue a degree in Business Administration.

Hall started with the City of Akron in 2016 as Secretary to the Mayor where she performed many administrative duties. In 2018, she was asked to facilitate the Mayor’s Citizens Institute and the Mayor’s High School Town Halls. In 2020, she was promoted to the Community Outreach Liaison for the Office of Integrated Development and the Public Arts Liaison. She was also a part of the Development Team and developed a marketing plan and sold city land under the Vacant Land Use Program.

Hall has a wide variety of experience in the community. She has previously served on the Downtown Akron Partnership board. She was a member of the Ohio Black Women’s Leadership Caucus- Akron Chapter, Akron Urban League Young Professionals.  She has also participated in a variety of local leadership and diversity classes such as Diversity on Board, Leadership Akron – Inaugural class.

Hall currently serves as an Associate Board member for the Ohio and Erie Canalway Coalition. She is on the Donor and Arts Committee for the Akron Civic Commons 2.0 Summit Lake and Lock 3 initiative. She serves as a trustee at the New Exodus Christian Fellowship Church and serves on the LeBron James Family Foundation Advisory Board and was recently elected as an Akron Public School Board Member.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and loves to travel. Hall is a proud mother to two amazing daughters.
